Examining the Biblical Doctrine of Election

1 Thessalonians 1:4 • Sermon Notes

In this sermon, Paul makes mention of the church’s “election of God” (1 Th. 1:4). Many have twisted this doctrine to teach that God has simply chosen to send some people to heaven and some to hell. By comparing scripture with scripture, the Bible clearly teaches that the church’s election is according to God’s foreknowledge that we would receive Christ willingly, by grace through faith.
