Midtown Baptist Temple began…

…as a ministry of Kansas City Baptist Temple in the fall of 2005 with the goal to reach the core of Kansas City in the name of Jesus. God had placed a burden on Pastor Sam Miles’s heart to begin a Bible study and disciple-making outreach in Midtown, so on Sunday nights a group began meeting in the basement of what is now our building. As the Lord brought people to salvation and redemption, it became clear to the KCBT leadership that it was time for the Bible study to become a full-fledged church. So on November 1, 2007, we officially became Midtown Baptist Temple.

Since then, we’ve seen many place their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Many have been baptized, discipled, trained, and sent out to continue the work of the gospel. We are excited about what God has done in the lives of our members and look forward to continuing in obedience as we further his kingdom.
