Blessings of Obedience
As we actively keep the Word of God, it will actively keep us: leading us, guarding us, and speaking to us. If we allow it to show and correct our way, it can protect us from the sin of adultery and its terrible consequences.
Purpose in the Perspective
In this chapter, Paul’s response to the difficulties of his voyage show us a pattern for how to respond to our physical circumstances with a spiritual perspective. We must trust the Lord for a way to glorify him in any situation and find the purpose for his Providence.
The Strange Woman
This is a short description of what the sermon is about. It should be no longer than two or three sentences.
Pointless Pain or God's Providence?
Paul understood that his imprisonment was an opportunity for the gospel to go forth. When we know that God allows our trials and our circumstances for our good and for His Glory, we can glorify him in any distress! As preachers of the gospel, we must retain the right motives to glorify God; we must align our hearts with the love and good will of Christ.
Standing Fast and Striving Together
Standing for the Lord is easy when we can gather together for services and huge conferences, but will we stand fast in the mind of Christ when the circumstances are more difficult? Paul’s charge for the Philippians is that they would be unified in the faith of the gospel. Will we stand fast and strive together?
At That Time
In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses is preaching to the children of Israel, reminding them of God’s faithfulness in their liberation from Egypt and journey through the wilderness. We must keep our courage by remembering our victories in the Lord and the things that he has taught us along the way. We can always trust the Lord for future victories according to his will.
Quarantined Prayer, pt.2
In this sermon, we continue Paul’s intercessory prayer for the Philippian church. While he is imprisoned, his separation from them fuels his prayers for their spiritual growth. This passage shows us the need to abound in love and discernment, that we might have a glowing testimony and fruit at the Judgment Seat of Christ!
The Destruction of the Wicked Man
In this sermon, we are introduced to the “wicked man,” who is perverse, deceptive, and malicious. This pictures “that Wicked” man called the antichrist. In the end, his blasphemy will end in destruction for him and all of his followers. We are warned to avoid walking in his wickedness!
The Difference Between Martha and Mary
The stories of Martha and Mary teach us the difference between serving Christ in the flesh and worshipping Christ at his feet. It is easy for us to become careful and troubled about many things and to protest when things don’t go the way we want them to. Instead, we ought to approach the Lord in humility, brokenness, and reverence.
Easter 2020 - Rescued!
Happy Easter! In this sermon, we take a look at the salvation which the Resurrection has made possible. Through faith in Jesus Christ's Death and Resurrection, we can be justified before God and saved from our sins! Hallelujah!
God Given Gain
In this sermon, Solomon shares some wise financial counsel. Avoid being surety for a loan that you cannot afford - but be as generous as you can be. This passage also warns us of the dangers of laziness!
Dealing with Life’s Unplanned Interruptions
In this sermon, we deal with the issue of the inevitable interruptions of life. When our circumstances are beyond our control, we must depend upon God’s grace and be predetermined to surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Quarantined Prayer, pt.1
In this sermon, we kick off the series with Paul’s intercessory prayer for the Philippians. Though he is “quarantined” in prison, the Apostle’s prayer is thankful, joyful, and full of faith!
The Quarantined Church / Keys to Contentment
In this sermon, we discuss the keys to contentment in the midst of any circumstance. During this time, we must draw near to God devotionally and depend upon the sufficiency of His grace. Work is also a key to contentment - so you can trust the Lord for the provision of a job to meet your needs!
Do The Right Thing
Because God is righteous, He loves what is right and hates what is not right. Even in this age of grace, He desires and is pleased by an upright heart and righteous character before Him.
The Quarantined Church / The Imprisoned Apostle
In this sermon, we discuss the parallel between our Quarantined Church and the Imprisoned Apostle. Throughout his ministry, the Apostle Paul was “quarantined” for preaching the gospel. In Acts 16, we witness a miraculous deliverance as Paul and Silas choose to worship the Lord instead of being bound by their circumstances!
The Quarantined Church / Praying the Promises
In this sermon, we discuss the keys to contentment in the midst of any circumstance. During this time, we must draw near to God devotionally and depend upon the sufficiency of His grace. Work is also a key to contentment - so you can trust the Lord for the provision of a job to meet your needs!
