Women in Missions: Pressing Toward the Mark

This year’s women’s conference will be a time of fellowship and hearing God’s word from a group of ladies experienced in the mission field. This is a great opportunity for the women in our ministry to connect more deeply with one another and be challenged in God’s call on their lives.

Lunch Provided. No Childcare available.

***There will be an optional Ladies night out for dinner on the Plaza following the conference***

Guest speakers:

Bethany Pearson

Bethany Pearson attended Maryland Bible College and Seminary to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies and Missions as well as Liberty University to pursue a Bachelor's in Nursing. These educational experiences prepared her to serve God and love people wherever she goes. While obeying the Great Commission to “go into all the world," Bethany met her husband Doug in Nepal in 2007. Together, they have served in India, Nepal, Cambodia, and Vietnam as disciplers and church planters. Her desire is that God would help her to be skillful in the word of God and develop women in the church to be faithful in all they are given to do — particularly in ministry and missions.

Jeanette Bichage

Jeanette Bichage was born and raised in Kenya, moved to Kansas City for higher education, and spent just under two decades there. She accepted Christ in high school in Kenya, but it was in Kansas City where the Lord led her to biblical discipleship and ministry by connecting her to KCBT and later Midtown Baptist Temple. She was involved in various ministries at her church, attended the Living Faith Bible Institute, and moved back to Kenya in 2018. She is now watching the Lord work among her family and friends and seeking his direction in ministry in her home country and city as she believes this is what he equipped her for and the field that he has led her to.

Kathy Mehl

Kathy Mehl was born and raised in Kansas City. She accepted Christ in 1989 and has been married to her husband Jim for 37 years. Her family served as missionaries to El Salvador from 1997 to 2011 where Kathy worked in the field ministering to women, youth, and children. From 2012 to 2020, Jim and Kathy served as missionaries to Cairo, Egypt. During her time in Cairo, Kathy worked as an ESL teacher and hearing specialist and served in the children's ministry at their church. She loves to spend time studying the Bible, fellowshipping, and learning about cultures and languages.

Rosie Fyffe

Rosie Fyffe is a wife and a mother of three. Part of Midtown Baptist Temple from its beginning, she and her family were sent out and served for five years as missionaries to Pakistan. Since returning in 2019, she has been involved in ministry at MBT as a worship leader and as part of the missions support team. She is passionate about connecting with women and their children and supporting and encouraging them in their role on the mission field.
