Living in Light of Christ's Return, pt.3
In this sermon, Paul beseeches the Thessalonians to abound in love for the brethren. This is accompanied by an admonition to work hard at your job for a testimony to the Lost and for your needs to be provided.
Living in Light of Christ's Return, pt.2
In this sermon, Paul lays out the keys to a walk that is pleasing to the Lord. We must live holy lives that are sanctified to the Lord.
Living in Light of Christ's Return, pt.1
In this sermon, we see Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonians to grow in love and holiness. When we live in light of the Judgment Seat of Christ, we will live blameless lives that glorify God!
We Need a Mature Faith
In this sermon, we revisit the importance of accountability in Biblical discipleship. Mature ministers help younger Believers grow in their faith. We also examine how the Judgment Seat of Christ guided Paul’s prayers for the Thessalonians. Are we burdened for our church to grow in love and holiness?
Focus on the Judgment Seat of Christ
In this sermon, we see Paul’s yearning to see the Thessalonians again and prove out their faith. When he receives a good report from his disciple Timothy, he rejoices and thanks the Lord in prayer. By staying focused on the Judgment Seat of Christ in prayer, we resist Satan’s temptations and glorify God with our lives.
The Judgment Seat of Christ
In this sermon, we examine the doctrine of the Judgment Seat of Christ. The Bible teaches that every Christian will give account before Christ, and fire shall try their works of service to God. For those who lay their lives down investing the Word of God into the souls of men, there will be great reward - but for those who “live their best life now,” there will be great loss.
Be Thankful
In this sermon, Paul once again thanks the Lord in prayer for the Thessalonians. If we receive the Word of God in faith and choose to suffer with God’s people, then we can look forward to the hope and joy of reward at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
Message to Leaders, pt.3
In this sermon, we further examine Paul’s heart in ministry. We are called to be spiritual fathers and mothers to our disciples. We must lay down our lives loving those we lead in ministry.
Message to Leaders, pt.2
In this sermon, Paul expresses his motherly care for the Believers at Thessalonica. Are we sacrificially loving our disciples with the same gentleness and grace?
Message to Leaders, pt.1
In this sermon, we begin our exposition of 1 Thessalonians. We are introduced to Paul’s missionary team and his pattern of ministry. We are called to win souls, make disciples, then equip and send proven leaders to do the same!
Rapture Ready
In this sermon, we examine the doctrine of the Rapture - Christ’s return for his Church. The Bible teaches a clear prophetic timeline that distinguishes the Rapture from Christ’s Second Advent to execute judgment on the World. The Church is saved from wrath, patiently serving the Lord, and looking forward to the hope of the Rapture - not preparing for Great Tribulation!
The Word and Power of the Gospel
In this sermon, we further examine the powerful testimony of the disciples at Thessalonica. In the midst of persecution, the Thessalonians were faithful ministers of the Word of God through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Examining the Biblical Doctrine of Election
In this sermon, Paul makes mention of the church’s “election of God” (1 Th. 1:4). Many have twisted this doctrine to teach that God has simply chosen to send some people to heaven and some to hell. By comparing scripture with scripture, the Bible clearly teaches that the church’s election is according to God’s foreknowledge that we would receive Christ willingly, by grace through faith.
A Minister's Goals, pt.2
In this sermon, Paul is praying and thanking God for the Thessalonians’ “work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Th. 1:3).
A Minister's Goals, pt.1
In this sermon, we begin our exposition of 1 Thessalonians. We are introduced to Paul’s missionary team and his pattern of ministry. We are called to win souls, make disciples, then equip and send proven leaders to do the same!
Survey - 1 Thessalonians
In this sermon, we examine the historical context of the book of 1 Thessalonians. After departing from Philippi, Paul and his missionary team arrive in Thessalonica, preaching the gospel in synagogue and making disciples. When the Jews of the city stir up persecution, Paul must flee to Berea. He writes this letter to the new church of the Thessalonians that he left behind.
Conclusion - The Quest for God's King
This message is a conclusion to our series in the book of 1 Samuel. We review the themes of the book: Samuel’s faithful ministry, Saul’s good start but ultimate failure, and David’s establishment and growth as the anointed of the Lord.
Loss: Saul's Death
In this sermon, the LORD brings about the final judgment of Saul, who falls in battle to the Philistines. His refusal to truly repent and seek the LORD ends in disaster for the entire nation.
David Devastated
In this sermon, David and his men return from the battlefield to discover that their camp at Ziklag had been raided by the Amalekites. Their camp was burnt down, their families were taken captive. Nevertheless, David encourages himself in the LORD - and God works a miraculous rescue.
Dumping David
In this sermon, David finds himself in the camp of the Philistines as they prepare to march on Israel. Suspicious of his company, the princes of the Philistines dismiss him from their ranks.
